Americans should make law for America!!

       "The American War for Independence was fought on a very simple premise:  Americans should make law for America.  There were two basic reasons our Founding Fathers believed this to be true.  First, they believed that under the natural law of God, self-government was a basic human right.  And second, they believed that it was their right under the British constitutional system to continue the century and a half of British practice of American self-government.

However, there are now key leaders in America who promote the adoption of a series of United Nation treaties that aim to exert control over the domestic policies of every nation, including the United States." - Michael Farris, Constitutional Literacy

Because of our Supremacy Clause found in our Constitution, if any treaty is signed it automatically becomes "The Law of the Land."  Any federal and state laws that do not line up with the guidelines stated in the treaties are immediately overruled.  Our courts and legislatures are required to treat the treaties as supreme over any other laws.  These treaties take away our right of self-government in the United States.  Something that our founding fathers fought and died for.

Just something to think about when you hear people talking about the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child, the Convention for the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination Against Women, the International Covenant on Economic, Social & Cultural Rights, etc.

We are the voices in this country and our world....what are you/we doing to make a difference....

I was studying International Law today and just felt like I needed to get this out there for all of you to read!  If any of you have been following me over the past few years, then you know how I have blogged about the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child as well as the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities here and here.

Please, be the voice this generation needs to protect future generations in the United States of America!

What will you be doing November 4, 2014?

I just read a great article over at "Crossed Examined.org"....What is left to say?   Tomorrow is November 4, 2014...Election Day here in the United States of America.  If you are an American citizen then you have been given a freedom that many, if not most, countries cannot enjoy.  The freedom to vote.  To vote who will represent you, the freedom to vote who will uphold the Constitution, the freedom to vote to keep the freedoms we have or the reverse...  Please, our nation needs the prayers of its Christians as well as its votes. The next few years will be turning points in our nation...if we don't have people in office who represent us, then we the people are to blame...

"We The People"

    "'We the people.' These are the first words of the United States Constitution.  'We the people'...do ordain and establish this Constitution of the United States of America."  Those aren't just pretty words.   They are a clear statement of the origin of all authority and power in this country.  This government by the people derives it's power from the people -- power flows from the bottom up, not from the top down. 
    The Constitution is not a document whereby an all-powerful government grants certain rights and privileges to its citizens.  No, it's the other way around.  The Constitution is a document whereby the citizens of the United States grant certain authorities and powers to the government.  'We the people' aren't passive recipients of rights granted in the Constitution; "We the people" are the actors, the initiators in this exchange.
    At least, we're supposed to be.  The truth is, 'We the people' have grown quite passive when it comes to our relationship to the government that we empower.  As a nation, we have grown quite ignorant of how and why our government works.  And in our ignorance and passivity, we have surrendered too many rights and freedoms to our government.

"Just a few minutes ago the United States Senate rejected ratification of the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities. The vote of 60 to 38 in favor of the treaty was short of the required two-thirds margin (66 in favor) necessary to ratify a treaty according to Article II of the U.S. Constitution.

Less than an hour before the vote, Senator Jeff Sessions of Alabama testified that his office has received more than 1,000 letters and emails in opposition to the treaty – and only 40 in favor. This shows an amazing outpouring from defenders of parental rights!

While we recognize that our success in Alabama is not indicative of the support level in every state, we would not have achieved this victorious outcome without the overwhelming support of concerned Americans just like you. Thank you so much for your calls, letters, and emails to oppose this ratification!"  - Parental Rights Email

I wanted to say thank you as well, to all of you who supported ParentalRights.org and called or emailed your Senators asking them to oppose CRPD. 

Those who were for the treaty have now realized that they will not be able to push a treaty like this onto the people of the U.S.A.....However, this means that they will be working harder next time....which means we need to be keep up-to-date with what they are doing and make sure our voice is heard!

UN Convention On The Right Of Persons With Disabilities

Good Morning Everyone!

I realize that I have been harping on this subject for the past year and I thank you for taking the time to read these posts.  It has come down to the wire this week as Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid announced that he will be taking a vote this week in hope to ratify the treaty.  Please, Please, Please, get involved.  If this treaty is ratified it will start a spiral effect of losing parental rights in the U.S.!  Children with diabilities are loved, trained and cared for the best by their own parents.  Obviously the parents would know what their children need better then anyone else and therefore are the best people to decide what is right for them and what is not.

Senate Vote This Week - Please Call Immediately!

Yesterday afternoon, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (NV) announced that the Senate will vote to ratify the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD) this week. We need you to call your two senators immediately, and urge them to oppose the CRPD.

U.S ratification of the CRPD would subject our domestic law to United Nations standards and oversight, threatening parental rights and American self-government.

Thirty-six Senators have signed a letter stating that they “respectfully request that no treaties be brought to the Senate floor for advice and consent during the lame-duck session of the 112th Congress.” These Senators have promised in the letter that they “will oppose efforts to consider a treaty during this time.” Senator Reid has purposefully ignored this letter by promising to file cloture (so the filibuster cannot be used) and will make every attempt to proceed to the CRPD for ratification this week.

We are behind in this battle. Thirty-six is not enough to stop a cloture vote – that takes forty – and these thirty-six have not pledged to vote “No” on the treaty. They have only pledged to oppose its coming to the floor. If CRPD comes to the floor anyway, we have no guarantee that we have the votes to stop it.

We need you to call both of your U.S. Senators right now and ask them to oppose the CRPD. You can click on your state on our States page to find your Senators’ contact information, or use the Capitol Switchboard at 202-224-3121. (I apologize for the incorrect area code in yesterday’s email. This is the corrected number.)

Please give them some or all of this message:

“I urge you to oppose the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities. This treaty surrenders U.S. sovereignty to unelected UN bureaucrats and will threaten parental care of children with disabilities. Our nation already has laws to protect disabled Americans. This treaty is unnecessary and will hurt families. If the Senate ratifies this treaty, it would be the first time ever that the U.S. has ratified a treaty that obligates us to recognize economic, social, and cultural entitlements as rights under domestic law. The Senate should be more focused on avoiding the fiscal cliff than on ramming through a dangerous treaty that has not yet received the full study and legal review that it requires.”

T'was The Night Before Elections

I received this poem through the email and wanted to post in on the eve of election day.  Unfortunately I do not know who the author is and can not give him/her proper credit as I would have liked to.  Also, be aware there is a slightly offensive word used to make the rhyming work...

T’was the night before elections,
And all thru' the town,
Tempers were flaring

I, in my bathrobe

They had come for my wallet,

Action Needed October 31, 2012...Please Help The USA!

I received this email written below from Parental Rights today and felt that I needed to share it on my blog.

"Action Needed Wednesday to Halt CRPD in Senate

Ireland will soon be voting on whether or not to amend their constitution to include children’s rights, removing the centuries-old presumption that fit parents act in the best interest of their children. Decisions would fall to bureaucrats rather than to parents whenever children are involved and any question of “best interest” arises.

Parental rights groups in New Zealand are fighting desperately to prevent a bill that would require any child receiving government aid to attend a government-licensed Early Childhood Education (ECE) program for at least 15 hours each week. Currently, aid is offered through a non-discriminatory, needs-based approach. The proposed law would make aid available only to those willing to let government bureaucrats shape the development and learning of their children from ages 3 to 5 years.

And in Alberta, the right of parents to put their children in a private or parochial school – in fact, to educate their children by any means other than public schools – was very narrowly saved when a bill was recently amended to restore that right. The Canadian province was one vote away from forcing all children into state-run schools.

Parents and lawmakers in all three of these countries are dealing with the same struggle: a clash of ideologies that would replace fit and loving parents with government bureaucrats as the best decision makers for children. In each instance lawmakers are responding to their country’s perceived obligations under the Convention on the Rights of the Child (CRC), a binding human rights treaty to which all three nations are a party.

Could such an approach to children ever come here to the United States?

It is already much closer than many realize.

The Looming Threat of the CRPD

This summer a powerful effort was made in the U.S. Senate to adopt the U.N.’s Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD), a human rights treaty like the CRC. And like that instrument, the CRPD also provides that “the best interests of the child” should be a primary consideration in all cases concerning children. This is a “term of art” in international law which is used to defend and promote the idea that governments and not parents should make decisions for children.

The CRPD passed out of Senate committee on July 26, and was brought to the floor for a general consensus vote on September 19. If Senator Lee of Utah had not been present to halt the maneuver, CRPD ratification may have passed then and there.

Take Action to Halt This Dangerous Treaty!

We have long believed that the lame duck session poses a big threat regarding this treaty, and we are even more convinced as it draws closer. That’s why right now is the time to act.

We need to make sure that when the Senate reconvenes in two weeks they know we are still watching, and we still oppose this treaty. We need your help tomorrow, October 31, to get that message out through a concerted one-day social media campaign.

Here’s all you need to do:

1. Post to your Facebook wall or Twitter feed (or both!) that you oppose this treaty as a violation of parental rights and American sovereignty that offers no additional protections for Americans with disabilities. Include the “hashtags” #CRPD or #UNCRPD in your posts so that others looking for comments on this topic will see what you have to say.

If you don't have a Facebook or Twitter account, consider creating one just for this purpose - it is that important!

2. Using the same hashtags, find your senators’ Twitter feeds or Facebook fan pages and leave a comment there. They will not see your page, but they have staffers monitoring theirs who will see your comments and take note.

3. Pass it on to all of your friends. A lot of organizations have come out in support of this treaty because they simply do not understand the impact it will have on American and international law. We must make our voices heard before it is too late!

Here is an example of how to use a hashtag in a Twitter feed comment (“tweet”): “Oppose the #UNCRPD – a violation of #parentalrights and U.S. self-government!”

(The sample tweet also uses our own #parentalrights hashtag, but your comments do not have to.)

Please post several comments or tweets in your own words throughout the day to keep this issue in front of policy makers and the general public.

Dear Readers,

I'm sorry I haven't posted lately.  This summer is flying by and lots of things have been happening in my life, to keep me away from the computer for long periods of time (which is needed in order to write you a decent post :}).

Unfortunately (Fortunately?!! :})  Tommorrow morning our family will be starting a ten day vacation!  It will be our first one in 10 years, so we are really excited!  However, this means that I will be unable to post during that period of time and I am sorry about that. :(

Before we leave however, I wanted to leave a very important post with you to "ruminate" on while I'm away. 

For those of you who have been reading my blog for a while now, realize that one of my passions is fighting for Parental Rights in the U.S.. As of right now an Amendment for protecting the rights of parents is quickly approaching its congressional hearing (July 19, 2012).  If you are unfamiliar with the Parental Rights Amendment (PRA) you can read some of my previous posts on it here, watch the trailer for "Overruled: Government Invasion of Our Parental Rights" here and watch the actual movie here.

As the date is fast approaching for the hearing and as I won't be getting back until 10 days before the hearing, I wanted again remind those of you who know and let those of you don't know, how important this amendment is to you, our parents, our future, homeschooling, the future of the United States of America, the safety of children and so much more.

When I recieved the following email from PR, I was filled with dismay.  This amendment is so important!  Please read it:

Supreme Court Ruling Threatens Parental Rights

Yesterday’s Supreme Court ruling in the health care case marks a decisive turn in the American experiment of freedom. There is no doubt the opinion shocked and dismayed liberty-minded citizens across the United States. It also upped the ante on the Parental Rights Amendment – and that’s why I must urge you to help.

Let me explain.

First, the ambiguity of federal HIPAA legislation was already a problem for parental rights. It is an open door that lets states infringe a parent’s fundamental liberty to make informed medical decisions for their child. Under the health care law, this gap is only going to get worse.

Second, the health care bill allows the government to spend millions on home visitation programs in which government officials enter your home to monitor and instruct how you raise your kids.

Third, the decision has made explicit a disturbing legal doctrine long implicit in the Supreme Court: that Congress has unlimited power to tax for any purpose, even beyond its enumerated powers. This provides one more tool the government can use to control what happens in your home.

If we are to protect parental rights in America we must pass the Parental Rights Amendment soon! The PRA will provide protection for parents and families in every one of these areas of concern.

As a citizen of these beloved United States,  I realize what a great debt I owe my God, my ancestors, my grandparents, my parents and those in the military.  They have done probably more then I will ever understand to ensure that the freedoms that I so often take for granted, are there for me to enjoy.  I must ask myself and you, "What will I do for the next generation?" "What will I do to honor those who have gone before me?" What will I do to protect what God has deemed a foundation of this earth, the family?"

Please, contact your local government leaders as well as those who serve at the national level.  We have elected them and they need to know how we the the people feel about it.  How important it is to us, that our parental rights are protected! 

You can visit parentalrights.org for more information on the amendment, how to contact your Senator or Congressman and how to get involved.  But most importantly, to add your name to the petition saying how important this bill is to the citzens of the U.S.!

This upcoming election is crucial! 

The video says it all.  "If I wanted America to fail"......

Every person able to vote this upcoming election NEEDS to vote. Whether you believe the Republican nominee is the best person for President or not, he is better than who is currently in office and every vote counts.

Free Suff....What will you do about it?

I recieved this in an email the a couple weeks ago and have been meaning to post it.

"I have never heard this said as simply or as well.  Class war at its best. 

The folks who are getting the free stuff don't like the folks who are paying for the free stuff, because the folks who are paying for the free stuff  can no longer afford to pay for both the free stuff and their own stuff.

And, the folks who are paying for the free stuff want the free stuff to stop.

And the folks who are getting the free stuff want even more free stuff on top of the free stuff they are already getting!

Now...  the people who are forcing the people who pay for the free stuff have told the people who are RECEIVING the free stuff that the people who are PAYING for the free stuff are being mean, prejudiced, and racist.

So... the people who are GETTING the free stuff have been convinced they need to hate the people who are paying for the free stuff by the people who are forcing some people to pay for their free stuff
and giving them the free stuff in the first place.

We have let the free stuff giving go on for so long that there are now more people getting free stuff than paying for the free stuff.

Now understand this. All great democracies have committed financial suicide somewhere between 200 and 250 years after being founded.  The reason?

The voters figured out they could vote themselves money from the treasury by electing people who promised to give them money from the treasury in exchange for electing them.The United States officially became a Republic in 1776...........

231 years ago. The number of people now getting free stuff outnumbers the people paying for the free stuff.

We have one chance to change that in 2012.

Failure to change that spells the end of the United States as we know it.

"Overruled: Government Invasion Of Our Parental Rights" has been released

My Mom and I just watched the movie that was released by ParentalRights.org and were pleased to see what a great docudrama they have made.  You can visit their website http://www.overruledmovie.com/ to watch it for free.  It is only 37 minutes long and truly worth it. 

As Adolph Hitler said, "He alone, who owns the youth, gains the future."  The parents have the right to raise their child.  Not the U.N., not the Government, not the State, not the Town, not the Schools.  It does not take a village to raise a child.  It takes loving parents who care about their child, who know their child best and will do what is best for them.

Parental Rights Amendment

Okay, so I know I recently posted on the parental rights issue, but it is something that the Lord is really laying on my heart.  This evening as I read another update from ParentalRights.org I was convicted again of my inactivity against this horrible treaty that could be enforced in our nation.

So, I decided that I would write two notes. One to our Congressman and one to our Senator.  After finishing those two emails.  God gave me the words to write the following letter that I am considering submitting to different newspapers.  As I finished it, I realized that putting it on my blog could be just as influential if not more-so, because you, my dear readers, are from all over the world.

　

Dear Editor,

    As a monumental, presidential election looms in our future it has caused many different issues to come to the surface. All of the issues hit close to home as they relate to our jobs, families, homes, economy, education and many other areas of our lives.

However, there is one issue that does not seem to surface to often and yet it is so critical to our continuation of freedom in the United States.

That issue is in regards to the Parental Rights Amendment. Our Founding Father's fought for the freedom of this country. That we the people would have the right to decide how we want to live, how we raise our children, how we worship our God, how we spend our money and in so many other ways. Yet those freedoms are slowly being chipped away. Over the years the government has stepped farther and farther into our private lives and has made laws that take away parts of our freedom and has instead given more control to the government.

We must not allow that to happen in regards to our parental rights. Currently, the role of raising, guiding, training and deciding what their children do, hear and see is being quickly usurped by faceless bureaucrats.

Our freedoms are slowly being taken away. Freedoms that made this nation strong and great. United families that had the liberty to raise their children in a way that they felt was best for each individual child created a country that had strong morals, strong families, and love of country.

The UN Convention on the Rights of the Child is a treaty that, if signed, would dictate that the federal government must enter each and every persons home and decide for itself if what is going on is acceptable. The rights of the parent would be replaced by "the best interests of the child" and the people deciding what is best for those childeren are 18 people on an international committe in Switzerland. The vast majority of parents know and love their children better than anyone. Our goverment should be supporting the parents and their rights.

If signed, we would be bound to this treaty and under the direction of the whim of these 18 people who will interprert "the best interests of the child" in whatever way they see fit.

In the United States, any treaty signed and ratified by congress is considered the law of the land and trumps an other laws already in place.

The ParentalRights.org is an organization that is desperatley concerned with the future of the families in the United States. They have drafted a bill that already has sponsors and co-sponosors in the house and senate.

The Amendment is as follows:

Draft Parental Rights Amendment

For The United States Constitution

Section 1

The liberty of parents to direct the upbringing and education of their children is a fundamental right.

Section 2

Neither the United States nor any state shall infringe upon this right without the demonstrating that its governmental

interest as applied to the person is of the highest order and not otherwise served.

Section 3

No treaty may be adopted nor shall any source of international law be employed to supersede,

modify, interpret, or apply to the rights guaranteed by this article.

We the people of the United States have been given inalienable rights. It is our duty and responsibility as citizens to make a stand and support those who desire our country to be a nation of liberty and freedom.

You can go to ParentalRights.org and find out more information about the treaty, the amendment, as well as additional information. You can also sign the petition if you believe that protecting parental rights is important. Please, share this information with your family, friends, neighbors, co-workers.

There are so many things you can do to help support parental rights and become involved.  Here is just a small list that I have compiled for those of you might be interested.

1. Pray - God can do anything and He wants us to come to Him in prayer.  Nothing we do can compare to what God can do. 

2. Sign the Petition - The more people who sign the petition in support of the amendment, the more people will know about it and congressman, senators and our president will know that we the people do care.

3. Read the different articles on ParentalRights.org and familiarize yourself with the pros and cons of the treaty and the amendment.  There are also lots videos that give you information as well.

4. Tell your family, friends, co-workers, neighbors and anyone else you come across about the treaty and how it would hurt this country.  Then tell them about the petition :]

5. Write to your Senators, Congressman, and let them know that you would like them to sponsor this amendment.

6. Write to your local papers or even your statewide papers and get the word out.

7. Post about it on your blog :]

"OVERRULED": Government Invasion of Your Parental Rights

Parental Rights is an Organization whose focus and mission is "to protect children by empowering parents through adoption of the Parental Rights Amendment to the U.S. Constitution and by preventing U.S. ratification of the UN's Convention on the Rights of a Child (CRC):" (1)

Parental Rights has done amazing work so far and has been faithful to keep us, the people, updated on there work.  We need to be supporting them and letting them know that we are behind them.

"Defend the poor and fatherless: do justice to the afflicted and needy." - Psalm 82:3

Last night I was directed to a movie by a friend, who, knowing my interest in politics, as well as my desire to spread the gospel, thought that I would find it interesting.   

She was right.

Ray Comfort put together a video focusing on how different people he had talked to, changed their minds about abortion after explaining to them that we as Americans are allowing a "Holocaust" to happen right in our backyards through abortion.

Although the movie is around 30 minutes long, I would hightly recommend you watching it.  It breaks my heart to think of all the abortions that go on everyday and the fact that so few people even think about what is going on. Or, for that matter, even believe abortion to be wrong.  We need to get the message out and be spreading the good news of salvation as well.  

Ray Comfort is a fantastic speaker and can think on his feet :]  Please take a few minutes to watch it.  It may change your life or you may be able to use it to change the lives of others!

"Victory or Death"

I was sent this video link in an email the other day and wanted to share it with you.  Most of you may know that Newt Gingrich is a possible presidential candidate and I need to say right off that I am not endorsing him. Although I may post on different political candidates or events in the future, it does not mean that I am endorsing them.    

However, what Mr. Gingrich had to say in this video clip was really good and needs to be heard. 

Please take the time to watch this. It is only ten minutes and well worth it.

We as citizens have the responsibility to run our country and elect officials that will represent us and run our country as God desires us to.
